The original SP1 quickly became one of MHC LDN's most popular front splitters for the BMW G8X platform, transforming the appearance of the M3 and M4 with its aggressive, full-width design. For 2026, MHC LDN has taken everything that made the original SP1 so successful and refined it further.
The iconic SP1 design remains exactly the same. The engineering behind it has been completely reworked.
Developed using improved 3D scanning technology, an all-new precision-machined aluminium mould and revised mounting points, the latest SP1 delivers tighter, more consistent panel gaps and an even higher standard of fitment across the BMW G80, G81, G82 and G83 platforms.
The Original SP1, Re-Engineered for 2026
When the original SP1 was introduced, it set a new benchmark for aftermarket carbon fibre front splitter fitment. However, as manufacturing technology has progressed, so have MHC LDN's standards.
Following the enormous popularity of the original SP1, its production mould had completed a significant number of manufacturing cycles. Rather than risk a decline in product quality as the tooling aged, MHC LDN temporarily discontinued production to completely redevelop the manufacturing process.
The latest SP1 benefits from higher-precision 3D scanning, revised fitment surfaces, improved mounting points and upgraded pre-preg carbon fibre construction.
The result is a more precisely manufactured front splitter that retains the distinctive appearance of the original, now with an even greater focus on fitment accuracy, manufacturing consistency and long-term product quality.
All-New Aluminium Mould for Exceptional Precision
One of the most significant upgrades to the 2026 SP1 is the introduction of an entirely new solid aluminium production mould.
Unlike the original carbon fibre tooling, the new aluminium mould offers significantly greater dimensional stability throughout repeated manufacturing cycles. This helps maintain the splitter's intended shape and geometry from one production run to the next, reducing the risk of inconsistencies as tooling ages.
Combined with the latest 3D scanning and manufacturing techniques, this substantial investment allows MHC LDN to achieve more consistent fitment tolerances, cleaner finishing and greater production repeatability.
Although the aluminium mould is not visible on the finished product, its benefits can be seen in the precision, consistency and overall quality of every SP1 front splitter produced.
Improved Fitment with Revised OEM Mounting Points
Precision fitment has always been central to the MHC LDN SP1 design, and the latest version takes this even further.
The updated splitter retains the original BMW mounting locations, with newly developed slotted fixing points that allow for minor dimensional variations between individual vehicles.
These revised mounting points provide greater adjustment during installation, helping achieve a more precise fit against the factory front bumper.
MHC LDN has also redesigned the clearance pockets on the splitter's mounting surface and refined the outer ends where the carbon fibre meets the wheel arches.

Its distinctive outer sections flow towards the wheel arches, while the integrated sculpted ducts complement the M3 and M4's prominent front grille and bumper design.
For a complete front-end transformation, the SP1 can also be paired with the MHC LDN twin-fin front duct design, creating a cohesive carbon fibre styling package.
Premium Pre-Preg Carbon Fibre Construction
The latest SP1 features an upgraded pre-preg carbon fibre specification, combining lightweight construction with exceptional surface quality and durability.
Unlike conventional wet-laid carbon fibre, pre-preg carbon uses reinforcement material that has been pre-impregnated with a carefully controlled quantity of resin. This allows for more consistent manufacturing, improved fibre-to-resin ratios and reduced excess material.
The SP1 is finished in a deep, high-gloss lacquer that highlights the carbon fibre weave and complements the factory exterior details of the BMW M3 and M4.
